Test for the Detection of Malignant Lymphoma in Dogs
The IDEXX Cancer Dx Test for the detection of malignant lymphoma in dogs has been available in Germany since April 2026. This test is an additional tool for early detection, diagnostic support, and monitoring. It is not a substitute for existing diagnostics for malignant lymphoma, such as lymph node fine-needle aspiration, cell examination, tissue examination, and other methods, as well as staging.
This means: In case of a positive finding, confirmatory diagnosis should be pursued quickly; in case of a negative finding with a typical clinical picture, it does not mean an all-clear.
For dogs without a clearly enlarged, peripheral lymph node, but with suspected tumor, a risk profile, or the owner’s desire for early detection, the test can offer significant diagnostic advantages compared to classical diagnostic methods. IDEXX recommends it for all dogs aged 7 years and older, as well as for certain high-risk breeds from 4 years of age. These include Beagles, Bernese Mountain Dogs, Boxers, Bullmastiffs, Dobermans, English Bulldogs, English Cocker Spaniels, Flat-Coated Retrievers, French Bulldogs, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Miniature Schnauzers, Rottweilers, and Scottish Terriers.
