Anyone who wants to get a cat should check whether there is permanently <strong data-start=\"841\" data-end=\"873\">enough time for a cat<\/strong> \u2013 even with professional stress, family obligations or on vacation. Especially indoor cats are dependent on human company and quickly get bored when left alone.  <\/p><h3 data-start=\"1095\" data-end=\"1136\">Does a Cat Fit the Life Situation?<\/h3><p data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1431\">Not every way of life is automatically <strong data-start=\"1176\" data-end=\"1194\">suitable for cats<\/strong>. Do you have small children, other pets, or frequently changing daily routines? Then you should check whether <strong data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1349\">a cat fits into the family situation<\/strong>. Cats need stable routines, retreats and a quiet environment.   <\/p><h3 data-start=\"1433\" data-end=\"1463\">Is there Enough Space?<\/h3><p data-start=\"1465\" data-end=\"1745\">Even though cats are considered compact pets, they need space to explore, climb and retreat. It can relieve pet owners financially and ensure that veterinary care is guaranteed in the event of illness and does not have to be restricted for cost reasons or even completely omitted. <\/p><p>There are three insurance models.<\/p><p><strong data-start=\"499\" data-end=\"545\">Full insurance (pet health insurance)<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"634\">Usually covers outpatient and inpatient treatments as well as operations.<\/li><li data-start=\"637\" data-end=\"704\">Usually also includes diagnostic measures (laboratory, imaging).<\/li><li data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"788\">In some cases, preventive services (vaccinations, deworming) are also included.<\/li><li data-start=\"791\" data-end=\"899\">Some policies also include a share for alternative healing methods (e.g. physiotherapy, homeopathy).<\/li><\/ul><p><strong data-start=\"908\" data-end=\"958\">OP insurance (surgery cost insurance)<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"961\" data-end=\"1105\">Only covers surgical procedures under anesthesia as well as the associated costs (anesthesia, preliminary examination, aftercare, hospital stay).<\/li><li data-start=\"1108\" data-end=\"1154\">Significantly cheaper than full insurance.<\/li><li data-start=\"1157\" data-end=\"1261\">No reimbursement for conservative treatments (e.g. allergies, chronic diseases, medication).<\/li><\/ul><p><strong data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1292\">Accident insurance<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"1295\" data-end=\"1314\">Offered less frequently.<\/li><li data-start=\"1317\" data-end=\"1413\">Exclusively covers accident-related treatments, mostly without routine or illness benefits.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong data-start=\"1684\" data-end=\"1727\">Benefit level and fee schedule (GOT)<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1808\">The reimbursement is based on the GOT (fee schedule for veterinarians).<\/li><li data-start=\"1811\" data-end=\"1958\">Many insurance companies reimburse up to twice the rate, more expensive tariffs even up to four times the rate (e.g. in emergencies, special treatments).<\/li><li data-start=\"1961\" data-end=\"2111\">Attention: An increased GOT rate (2\u20134 times) is regularly charged for night, weekend or emergency services \u2013 not all policies cover this.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong data-start=\"2124\" data-end=\"2166\">Benefit limits and deductible<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"2170\" data-end=\"2248\">Some insurers set annual maximum amounts (e.g. \u20ac3,000\u201310,000)<\/li><li data-start=\"2251\" data-end=\"2331\">Deductible usually 0\u201320%; often mandatory for older animals.<\/li><li data-start=\"2334\" data-end=\"2451\">For chronic diseases (e.g. epilepsy, diabetes), the benefit period varies significantly between providers.<\/li><\/ul><p><strong data-start=\"2464\" data-end=\"2495\">Waiting periods and exclusions<\/strong><\/p><ul><li data-start=\"2499\" data-end=\"2573\">Waiting period: Usually 30 days for illnesses, 3\u20136 months for operations.<\/li><li data-start=\"2576\" data-end=\"2592\">Exclusions:<ul><li>Pre-existing conditions (no subsequent insurance possible)<\/li><li>Certain breeds or genetically predisposed diseases<\/li><li>Prophylaxis (except for tariffs
